Networking Meeting |
We’ll get started early (i.e. 7:15 a.m.) with open networking.
We are also looking for a coffee sponsor for the morning—if interested or for more information call Carole Arndt at 651-639-1008.
Our program topic for the morning (sandwiched between lots of networking) will be:
“Improve Your Social Media Networking by Avoiding Common Faux Pas!”
Have you wondered if it is appropriate to “friend” your client? How much is too much information to post on your profile? Are you obligated to follow your followers on Twitter? Can you mix personal with business posts? Social media is still in its early stages and hence, both faux pas and guidelines continue developing. If you have (or haven’t!) considered the impact of LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter on your personal brand and business, you won’t want to miss this informative session. Join us to learn how to manage your on-line presence. Laura A. Barclay, President and Founder of the Etiquette Centre of Minneapolis, LLC, will be our speaker. You’ll learn:
- The criteria for adding people to your on-line network
- How to “unfriend” and “unfollow” gracefully
- Face-to-face v. social media networking expectations
Speaker Bio: Laura A. Barclay is the President and Founder of the Etiquette Centre of Minneapolis, LLC, the leading etiquette, protocol, refinement, and civility training company in the Midwest. Laura is a Certified Etiquette Consultant and member of the Association of Image Consultants International. Laura has helped thousands of people learn to interact and communicate more effectively. Her seminars shed new light on contemporary manners for business professionals, children, and young adults in real life situations. She has been featured on both television and radio, quoted in publications such as the Columbus Dispatch, Minnesota Business Magazine, Minneapolis Star Tribune, Myrtle Beach Sun, Seattle Times, St. Paul Pioneer Press, and is authoring the upcoming book, The Refined Leader.
Note: HRP-MN Networking meetings are usually held the 3rd Tuesday of each month from
