HRP-MN August Luncheon

Talent Assessment: Know what you have/Competency Modeling—The link to high performance

77% of managers think they are working on something strategically important, but one out of four said they only knew it was strategic because someone told them or they saw it in a written document. 41% of managers say that their initiatives are going “okay at best”. 87% of the business issues in the workplace are due to lack of interpersonal skills, not the intellectual competency of the individual. Can your organization afford this big gap in communication? Can your organization afford the lost opportunity of less than expected performance?

Key Objectives:
This session will provide an overview of:

  • what is competency and competency modeling
  • how organizations identify their core competencies and improve performance
  • uncover the competency factor that is critical to success or failure
  • interpersonal skill development – is it possible?
  • emerging trends in competency modeling

Competency modeling can be applied to a variety of human resource activities. This focus can be measured thereby clearly showing the value of human resources professionals and the departments to an organization.
